Posts have a double groove visual guide feature, and contain circular grooves at 1" (2.5 cm) intervals and are numbered at 2" (5.1 cm) intervals. A plastic tapered split sleeve snaps together around each post. Tapered openings in the shelf corners slide over the tapered split sleeves to lock on the shelf. Shelves are assembled in minutes without the use of special tools
